Our Engagement Story 

Yellowstone National Park- July 31, 2010

We started off our trip in Jackson Hole, WY (you can read more about that here and here). The entire trip was a surprise for my birthday (so I thought!), so we were enjoying our rafting, hikes, and exploring for the first couple of days. Day 3 started very early though, we were up before sunrise!

As the day continued, we drove to Yellowstone park to have a picnic breakfast by Canyon Falls. The sky was so blue, and the view was unbelievable...

We saw so much wildlife on the way! Buffalo....

And even a bear! About 10 feet away from us...

We past gorgeous rivers and canyons, taking pics as we went along.

Then we got really lucky....we arrived at Old Faithful at 8:54, when it was scheduled to erupt at 8:58! How perfect. If you have never experienced it in person, you need to! I'll post a short video on that soon :)

Next, we drove to Canyon Falls. We brought our breakfast so we could have a little picnic in the woods overlooking the falls. We even went off the beaten path to a trail that was closed, for a better view.

Jeff got out the tarp that he snuck on the plane in his carry on...

Then we set up our picnic and timed this picture...

After breakfast, we looked around and Jeff got his binoculars to check out the falls. He told me to check it out, so I did. When I turned around......

He proposed! He also brought out a bottle of champagne to toast with (mimosas, of course). He had the label personalized and everything. So sweet.

I was in total shock! We snapped some pics to remember the moment...

And just like that, we were engaged! He couldn't have done it better if I had drawn out my perfect engagement. It was way more than I could ask for.

The rest of the day, we drove to Great Falls, MT. I had no idea what we were doing, then we pulled in to this adorable bed and breakfast.

And at dinner, he showed me these!!!

The rest of the night, we drank beer with the locals and saw my favorite artist play all night.

It was heaven!

I'm telling you, it's almost scary when someone knows you so well to plan a day like this! It was amazing.

All in all, it really was a great trip, and a wonderful day to get engaged! I can't wait to be married to the best guy I know, and the best friend a girl could ask for. Now bring on the party!!
